I belong to Sisters on the Fly, a women's outdoor adventure group. We were invited to show our travel trailers and tell people about SOTF at "Weekend in the Country" a craft and upcycled vintage items show held in Davisburg, Michigan. Since this is near where I live, I decided to take my 1965 Cree and join in on the fun.
We ended up with a nice variety of trailers to show the public, and holy smokes did the public respond! I've never had so many people tour my trailer. Quite a few people said they came to the event just to see us. Fun!
The show itself is fantastic. It's a juried show, with about half of the show being recycled, upcycled, vintage items and the other half being high quality crafts of assorted types. I think most of the Sisters managed to spend a fair bit of money with various vendors.
We were also allowed to sell items ourselves, as a thank you for showing our trailers. Some of us took items to sell, and did well. But, we all decided it was too distracting trying to show our trailers, talk about SOTF and manage a sales booth all at the same time.
We will be at this event again next year. I hope you come out and see us there!
