Vintage Camping with Tin Can Tourists at Port Crescent State Park in Michigan's thumb

There's just nothing like camping with our vintage trailer friends.  It's so much fun going around and looking at all the gorgeous trailers, talking with like-minded people, and just relaxing and enjoying the time together.  It helps when we're gathered at a fabulous campground like the Port Crescent State Park in Michigan's thumb.

We had planned on leaving around 10:00 am on Wednesday morning.  Well, at 6:00 pm we finally pulled out.  Hmmmm.  Good thing we're flexible.   Then, we have a problem ... a toasty hub.  The brakes were hanging up and there may be a bearing issue.

Since Mark had repacked all the bearings and replaced the seals that morning, it was a bit perplexing.  So, we took it slow and steady with frequent stops and made it to Port Crescent around 10:30 pm.   Wednesday was our wedding anniversary.  We had planned on having dinner with friends and watching the sunset on the beach.  Instead, we ate dinner in a Burger King parking lot.  At least we were together!

The rest of the weekend was fabulous.  We set up on Thursday, and then kicked back, relaxed and watched all the pretty trailers come rolling in.

Sunset on the beach ... a perfect way to celebrate the end of another great day.

Gathering together for dinner is so nice.  Hot dogs and sides on Thursday, Stir fry on Friday and Pot Luck on Saturday.

Saturday, the day of the Open House.  So much to see, so many people to meet.  What a wonderful time! (Note: If you click on a photo, they'll come up in a different mode where they're larger and easier to scroll through.)

Looking forward in our 1965 Cree.  Just painted the cabinet doors in the kitchen.  I like it so much I'm doing the ones in the back too.

it's always sad to say goodbye at the end of such an event.  We can't wait to do it again.   Until then, relax ... and travel safely.
