Meet Jamie and Sam
Meet Jamie and Sam. A week or so ago these two were wandering the streets in Detroit. When they spotted them, Sarah got them into her yard and she and her parents took great care of them. They were skinny when they captured them but they're looking great now. They reached out to us to see if we could bring them into our flock after making the hard decision that their home wasn't the best place for them.
Sarah gave them their names and of course they're keeping them! They're still too small to stay out in the pen with the big ducks so they will go in and out as weather permits until they're a little bit larger. In the meantime we will keep them separated from the rest to make sure they are healthy and let everyone get acclimated to each other safely. We are thrilled to have them here, and I'm so impressed with Sarah's compassion. My guess is somebody gave them as a gift for Easter and then dumped them as they got bigger and needed more care. This stuff is so frustrating. They would have probably died if this great family hadn't rescued them. I promise we will take good care of them and we told Sarah she can come visit this summer. Welcome to the mayhem Sam and Jamie.
