Blast from the past .. 8 track style
We love to garage sale, flea market, go to resale shops ... we love going junkin'. This weekend our subdivision held its annual Sub Sale Saturday. We SHOULD have participated and sold some of our stuff. Instead, we went shopping. My husband decided he couldn't live without the classic Pioneer SX880 receiver and matching 8 track player. Oh yeah, it also came with a box of at least 150 8 track cassettes. Oh Joy!
So, tonight he decided it was time to jam to classic music. He hooked the 8 track player to our existing vintage system and it was time to rock. So far he's played Boxcar Willy, Elvis, Joe Cocker, Tony Orlando and Dawn, Bobby Vinton (singing in Polish at that) and more. In the pile I see lots of Kenny Rogers, The Beatles, Johnny Cash, Neal Diamond, Patsy Cline ... oh goodness.
We've decided the prior owner must have been the party host with the most, given the diversity of the selections. He also moved a lot judging by the various address stickers with different addresses on the tapes. So Don Wilkinson ... we're enjoying your music.
