Hanging light for the Atomic Twinkie
Just after Christmas I bought these fantastic starburst lights on clearance at Target. Some of them have to be plugged in. One set is battery operated. There was only one package of the battery operated ones left. Bummer.
So, I picked up everything they had, figuring I'd use them as lighting in the Atomic Twinkie (our 1965 Avion H-24 travel trailer).
With the battery operated lights I wanted to make some sort of hanging light. I thought about using a hula hoop, but that's too big. I thought about a cross stitch hoop. Not quite it. I was watching thrift stores, garage sales, etc. but nothing was quite "it".
Then, while cleaning the yard I looked over at a metal hanging basket I had picked up last fall at an estate sale. DUH. It's perfect! So, I brought it in, added the lights and this is the result. I need to put a bowl or something in the middle so the battery packs don't fall out. I'll probably use something silver to reflect the lights. I would love to have one more pack of the atomic lights too, I guess I'll have to hit eBay for those. Anyway, so it's not quite done, but it's getting there. Would love suggestions for improving it. : )
